The Alexa Smart Home team is bringing to market new Alexa-enabled and voice-driven products that help customers track their home appliance power consumption and identify opportunities for reducing their carbon footprint. In this role you will lead and design the development of scalable services to enable customers to seamlessly connect their smart home devices into the Alexa ecosystem. Basic qualifications 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience Programming experience with at least one software programming language. BS in Computer Science, or equivalent professional or military experience in data structures, algorithms, design and systems architecture. 2+ years of professional software development experience. Experience with an object oriented language (Java, C#, C++, python or other) or functional programming language (Lisp, Clojure, Haskell, F# or other) Preferred qualifications 3+ years professional experience building and operating scalable distributed systems across the lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, operations, and maintenance is preferred. Experience with React Native, Redux and Javascript or TypeScript is a plus. Experience with defining, developing and maintaining REST based interfaces is a plus.
