EWC Growth is seeking a Staff Accountant to oversee core accounting functions and maintain strong internal controls across its operations. The role involves financial reporting, multi-unit accounting, compliance, and process improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review daily, monthly, and annual journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances between actual and budgeted performance
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage accounting activities for multiple center locations, ensuring consistent accounting treatment across all stores
• Review store-level cash, credit card settlements, and other revenue transactions
• Support new store openings, store relocations, and store closures from an accounting perspective
• Analyze store profitability and operational performance metrics
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting and retail operations
• Support external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements
• Assist with sales tax compliance and multi-state reporting requirements
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency
• Participate in ERP, POS, and financial systems enhancements and implementations
• Collaborate cross-functionally with human resources, operations, and sales teams
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced proficiency with pivot tables and v-lookups
• Experience with Rippling, NetSuite, and other business management platforms
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
