Job Title: Technical Advisor II Location: Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX, Remote/Home Based Job Summary and Description: Key Responsibilities: Establish strong relationships at all appropriate decision-making levels within assigned accounts. Make general as well as specific sales calls and presentations to broaden client engagement. Understand the client’s strategic issues, business objectives, unique needs, and decision-making processes to drive revenue growth. Proactively identify existing EPRI products and solutions that can be positioned to meet and exceed client needs. Manage the client engagement process from client needs assessment through the close of sales and coordinate appropriate internal cross-functional support as needed. Possess a sufficiently deep technical comprehension of the sector R&D portfolio with ability to represent a strong value proposition to clients of appropriate technical programs, projects, and products. Take an active role in defining, launching, and closing sales of key supplemental projects. Capture client, market, and product feedback to help support and influence future EPRI product development. Proactively capture and communicate value to document impacts and benefits to assigned clients on a regular basis throughout the year. Work closely with technical staff and build relationships with appropriate internal stakeholders. Track and manage opportunity funnel in client relationship management (CRM) tool and actively track every opportunity through the full life cycle of sales. Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with client end users to facilitate effective technology transfer. Work with end users to support implementation/application of relevant EPRI results. Actively promote the implementation and broad acceptance of EPRI’s tools/results broadly across the client organization. Work collaboratively across the other EPRI R&D sector programs to promote and cross sell relevant research. Provide feedback to technical staff on the structure and content of the Annual Research Portfolio. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required in related technical discipline. Engineering degree preferred along with advanced degree. Desired ten years electric power or similar industry experience with at least 5 years of experience in selling complex technical solutions. Solid understanding of account management and sales practices/principles with the ability to drive the sales process from needs assessment to close. Ability to effectively engage at all levels within client organizations. Broad understanding of the energy industry with specific expertise in assigned sector. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure. Ability to work toward common goals in a team atmosphere. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective presentation development and delivery skills. Willing to travel approximately 50% of the time. Skills and Attributes: Ability to multi-task and work under pressure. Strong computer skills including the full Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with AI-powered platforms for automating repetitive tasks and improving efficiency. The salary range for this position is $138,000 USD to $148,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan. This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
