Administer and maintain Linux (RHEL, CentOS) Servers Remediate server and software issues Help with setting up and racking, stacking and wiring of equipment as needed in data center. Investigate to determine root causes of security issues to perform troubleshooting and problem resolution to restore services. Remote management and troubleshooting of workstations and servers Collaborate with application teams to perform system maintenance and patch management tasks Provide guidance and support security activities while building relationships with key personnel. Document and inform management with information about security information and event management. Assess information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands. Apply know-how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures. Document work for leadership, update/create Standard Operating Procedures, and brief staff and customers various tasks. Provide agency with guidance in following NIST, FISMA, Agency Information Security and Privacy, and Cloud Guidelines. 4-year college degree in Computer Science or related field and 3-5 years of experience or 5 years of experience in lieu of a college degree. Demonstrated hands-on experience and knowledge of Linux platform (i.e. RHEL, CentOS) including administration, management, and troubleshooting for physical and virtual platforms. Performs software upgrades, patch installs, firmware upgrades then test for functionality on a periodic basis. Experience demonstrating strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for security information and event management. At least 3 years of security experience Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Experience with Microsoft Server support when needed. Ability to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, and Cloud Environments.
