Summary

FormativGroup is seeking an experienced Salesforce Certified Developer with deep expertise supporting Public Sector and Government Cloud implementations. This role is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and deploying scalable Salesforce solutions across Government Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud environments, while collaborating closely with both technical and business stakeholders to deliver secure, high-quality enterprise solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong hands-on Salesforce development expertise across Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, integrations, and platform configuration, combined with experience supporting government or regulated environments. This individual will play a key role in Agile delivery teams, contributing to solution architecture discussions, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and client-facing collaboration. This is a highly collaborative and client-facing role requiring strong communication skills, consultative thinking, and the ability to work effectively within fast-paced Agile consulting environments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions across Government Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and related Salesforce platform technologies. Develop and maintain custom Apex classes, triggers, batch jobs, scheduled jobs, Queueable Apex, and asynchronous processing frameworks. Build responsive Lightning Web Components (LWCs) leveraging JavaScript, Apex, and Salesforce platform services to improve user experience and functionality. Configure Salesforce using declarative capabilities including Flows, validation rules, approval processes, page layouts, dynamic forms, record types, and custom metadata. Contribute across both declarative and programmatic development efforts, balancing low-code and custom development approaches. Design and support integrations between Salesforce and external enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware platforms, and web services. Develop and execute unit testing, integration testing, and deployment validation activities while maintaining Salesforce development best practices and code coverage standards. Implement and maintain Salesforce security architecture including Profiles, Permission Sets, Permission Set Groups, Roles, Sharing Rules, and Organization-Wide Defaults (OWD). Support data migration, transformation, cleansing, and bulk updates utilizing tools such as Data Loader, Workbench, and ETL/integration platforms. Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, standups, retrospectives, and release planning. Collaborate closely with architects, business analysts, QA teams, project managers, and client stakeholders to validate requirements and technical solution approaches. Participate in client-facing discussions, technical workshops, and solution reviews while providing guidance on technical feasibility and platform best practices. Support source control, CI/CD, and deployment management processes utilizing tools such as Git, Gearset, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar DevOps platforms. Maintain accurate project documentation, technical specifications, development estimates, and time tracking aligned to project delivery standards. Ensure solutions align with Salesforce platform governance, scalability, performance, and security best practices, particularly within regulated Government Cloud environments. Required Experience Active Salesforce certifications required: Salesforce Platform Developer I (required) Platform Developer II strongly preferred Additional Salesforce certifications highly desired 5–8+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience within enterprise environments. Proven experience supporting Public Sector and Government Cloud Salesforce implementations. Strong hands-on expertise with: Apex development (classes, triggers, batch processing, asynchronous processing) Lightning Web Components (LWC) Salesforce Flows and declarative automation Salesforce platform customization and configuration Experience developing within Salesforce Government Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud environments. Knowledge of Flow capabilities Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, data modeling, and application design principles. Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems utilizing REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and web services. Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits, platform constraints, and development best practices. Experience implementing and managing Salesforce security models including Profiles, Roles, Permission Sets, Sharing Rules, and field-level security. Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end development principles. Experience working within Agile/Scrum software delivery environments. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to participate in client-facing technical discussions. Ability to balance hands-on technical development with consultative, solution-oriented thinking. Experience working within regulated, compliance-driven, or government-focused delivery environments preferred. Preferred Experience Cannabis industry experience highly preferred Experience working within Salesforce consulting, systems integrator (SI), or professional services environments. Experience supporting federal, state, or local government agencies. Exposure to MuleSoft or enterprise integration platforms. Experience with Salesforce DevOps and CI/CD tooling including Gearset, Git, Jenkins, Copado, or Azure DevOps. Familiarity with Salesforce Experience Cloud sites, portals, digital experiences, and CMS capabilities. Exposure to Salesforce AI capabilities including Einstein AI, Agentforce, or GenAI-enabled Salesforce tools. Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce migrations, modernization initiatives, or multi-org/multi-brand implementations. Familiarity with secure development standards and governance practices within Government Cloud environments. LOCATION This role is a US-based remote role with potential travel. The compensation range for this position represents our good faith estimate of the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity.
