The Planet Group is a growing organization in the insurance industry, seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead software delivery initiatives across various teams. This role involves owning project execution, coordinating releases, managing stakeholder communication, and driving process improvements in Agile delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development projects from planning through deployment
• Coordinate release planning, readiness reviews, and production deployments
• Manage project timelines, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communications
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and promote delivery accountability across teams
• Serve as the Jira subject matter expert, including dashboards, reporting, workflows, and automation
• Develop executive-level reporting and delivery metrics
• Support production issue triage, defect management, and release activities
• Drive continuous improvement across Agile processes, SDLC, and release management practices
• Partner with leadership to leverage AI-powered tools and automation to improve reporting, visibility, and operational efficiency

Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, Technical Program Manager, Release Manager, or similar role
• Proven success managing multiple software development projects in Agile environments
• Strong Jira administration and reporting experience
• Experience coordinating software releases and working closely with Engineering, QA, Product, and DevOps teams
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and release management practices
• Ability to participate in technical discussions, issue triage, and root-cause analysis
• Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience using data, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve delivery outcomes
• Previous software engineering, systems engineering, or DevOps background
• Experience within insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries
• Agile certifications (CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe, etc.)
• Advanced Jira expertise, including automation and reporting tools
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based environments
