Life Sciences Recruitment is a commercial-stage specialty pharmaceutical company looking to expand its Business Development capabilities. The Director of Business Development is responsible for building a qualified in-licensing pipeline and advancing assets to term sheet within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Build and actively manage a pipeline of 15–25 qualified in-licensing opportunities
• Advance 2–3 assets into full due diligence
• Bring at least one opportunity to term sheet stage
• Establish the company as a credible and respected partner within the business development and licensing community

Skills

• Buy-side deal experience: Has led or co-led a pharmaceutical or biotech in-licensing transaction from opportunity evaluation through term sheet or execution. Candidates whose involvement was primarily coordination or support will not be considered
• Financial modeling: Able to independently develop rNPV valuation models and present recommendations and valuation analyses to executive leadership and/or the Board
• Lean organization experience: Has worked within a small or mid-sized pharmaceutical or biotech company where they helped build Business Development processes rather than operating within a large, highly structured infrastructure
• Scientific fluency: Comfortable reviewing scientific publications, clinical data, and regulatory documentation independently
• AI proficiency: Has experience incorporating AI tools into their workflow and is enthusiastic about leveraging AI to improve efficiency and decision-making
• Experience within specialty pharmaceuticals, particularly CNS, specialty therapeutics, injectable products, and/or combination products
• An established network within the biotech partnering and out-licensing community
• Familiarity with Business Development databases, partnering platforms, and external diligence resources
