QA Manual Tester

Remote · Germany Full-time

Company Description

An Enterprise client is seeking a detail-oriented QA Manual Tester to ensure the quality, usability, and performance of mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms. This contract role will work closely with developers and product managers to identify defects, validate new features, and deliver a seamless user experience for a global user base. The engagement is expected to last 6–12 months, with the possibility of extension. This role supports EST business hours, with an anticipated start date of January 19, and multiple hires will be made.

Job Description

Execute comprehensive manual testing, including functional, regression, UI/UX, and smoke testing across a variety of iOS and Android devices. Identify, document, and track software defects using tools such as Jira, providing clear and reproducible steps. Create, maintain, and execute detailed test plans and test cases based on product requirements and acceptance criteria. Validate cross-platform functionality to ensure consistent performance across different OS versions, devices, and screen sizes. Collaborate with developers and product managers by participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and QA estimation discussions. Perform user-centric testing to identify usability issues and experience gaps beyond strictly technical defects. Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience in manual testing for mobile applications (native, hybrid, or web-based). Strong understanding of iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Android Material Design principles. Proficiency with mobile debugging and logging tools such as Charles Proxy, Fiddler, Xcode Console, or Android Studio Logcat. Basic experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman to validate backend data and integrations. Experience testing on both physical devices and emulators/simulators, including platforms such as BrowserStack or Firebase Test Lab. Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, a proactive “breaker” mindset, and the ability to clearly communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. Additional Information This is a fully remote work opportunity, allowing candidates to work from any location while supporting EST business hours. The role offers a competitive hourly pay rate, commensurate with experience and skill level.
