Kier + Wright is a company that has been providing engineering and surveying services since 1972. They are seeking a Project Engineer I to provide engineering support to project teams, develop technical design plans, and collaborate effectively with technicians and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team
• Develops working drawings for civil design plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D (grading, drainage, utility, stormwater management and street frontage improvements) from sketches
• Uses engineering judgment to perform duties and knows when to ask questions, seek assistance or perform independent research
• Manages personal time allotted to various tasks in order to meet obligations of one or more projects, including budget, quality and schedule
• Provide accurate design of on-site and off-site improvements for the planning and construction of commercial, industrial, and/or high-density residential projects that are ready for construction
• Can provide accurate design of grading, drainage, utilities and stormwater treatment with minimal input from engineer of record
• Performs civil engineering calculations, SWPPP’s and other engineering reports
• Effectively interacts with peers, clients, and sub-consultants

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent level of experience (2025-2026 Graduates are welcome to apply)
• 0-5 years of experience in land development
• General knowledge of computers, Microsoft office, Adobe, Internet applications, etc
• Engineering in training (EIT) or scheduled to sit for exam is preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam, preferred
• Additional software experience a plus, e.g., Agtek, Hydrology/Hydraulic Software
