About the Company

We are seeking an experienced Grants Accountant to support the administration and oversight of federally funded grants and subawards. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with grant requirements, coordinating post-award activities, supporting reporting and monitoring efforts, and serving as a key resource for grant recipients, project managers, and leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex federal awards and a strong understanding of grant regulations and financial compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the acceptance and administration of grants and subawards, including review of award terms and conditions.
  • Lead post-award kickoff meetings with project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain grant tracking systems to monitor deadlines, deliverables, reporting requirements, and closeout activities.
  • Partner with program managers, finance teams, and operational leaders to ensure compliance with funding agency requirements.
  • Support grant-related activities including reporting, amendments, no-cost extensions, carryover requests, scope modifications, and personnel changes.
  • Administer subawards, including issuance, modifications, monitoring, and closeout activities.
  • Conduct subrecipient monitoring to ensure compliance with federal regulations, award terms, and organizational policies.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, grant monitoring reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Respond to requests for grant-related information from funding agencies, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain access to funding agency portals and submission systems.
  • Develop and maintain electronic grant files and documentation systems.
  • Deliver training and guidance to grant recipients and staff on grant compliance requirements.
  • Utilize financial and reporting systems, along with advanced Excel skills, to enhance grant tracking and reporting processes.

Qualifications

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in grants management, contract administration, or financial management within public sector, healthcare, tribal, or nonprofit organizations.
  • At least 4 years of direct experience managing federally funded grants, cooperative agreements, and subawards.
  • Demonstrated experience with post-award administration, compliance monitoring, reporting, and grant closeout activities.
  • Strong knowledge of federal grant regulations, including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance).
  • Experience with subrecipient risk assessments, monitoring, and compliance oversight.

Preferred Skills

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) certification.
  • Experience working with Tribal Health organizations or the Alaska Tribal Health System.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and grant management systems.
