Job Description

Shift Available:

Sunday to Thursday from 2:00 AM to 10:30 AM (Friday and Saturday Off)

Education Level:

* Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required

  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist

Years of Experience:

* Six months to one year of related crisis experience is preferred

Summary of Position:

As a 988 Chat/Text Specialist, you'll be working on a remote team, handling incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing brief clinical screenings and risk assessments for individuals experiencing emotional distress
  • Answering crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources
  • Conducting follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
  • Meeting the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
  • Actively participating in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
  • Assisting in administrative tasks as needed

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Provides telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments

  • Answers crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources
  • Conducts follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
  • Meets the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
  • Actively participates in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
  • Assist in administrative tasks as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods

  • Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources
  • Knowledge of suicide assessments
  • Skill in providing crisis intervention
