This position is in the General Government (GGU) bargaining unit at a range 14 or 16. Emergency Management Specialist 1 Range 14 - $1,999.50 b/w Emergency Management Specialist 2 Range 16 - $2,296.50 b/w This position is open to Alaska Residents only. This vacancy may be filled at either the 1 or 2 level, depending on the applicant's training and/or experience. The full range of salaries is listed above. Starting salary will be determined by the level the position is hired at. If filled at Level 1, promotion to the Level 2 will occur upon successful completion of the probationary period and required training, as well as the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher job class. What You Will Be Doing As an Emergency Management Specialist II, this position assists the Outreach Branch Chief in creating, developing, implementing, and administering effective statewide emergency management preparedness outreach and educational programs. The role requires a strong working knowledge of disaster preparedness and response programs, as well as the ability to communicate complex information clearly through both written and verbal channels. This position also involves engaging with diverse public audiences through presentations and outreach efforts, and calls for creativity in designing accessible, informative, and impactful preparedness materials that promote community resilience.
