Electrical Engineer-Early Career

Lockheed Martin’s RMS team at Mitchel Field, Long Island (NYC Metro Area) is seeking a full-time Early Career Electrical Engineer to join a fast moving hardware group that supports the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Navigation Submarine Program. In this role, you will rotate across a variety of tasks — CCA/board design & troubleshooting, FPGA development, cable assembly design & troubleshooting, network diagram creation, etc —giving you broad exposure to both tactical and auxiliary systems across the entire engineering product lifecycle. You will also collaborate across teams, as well as directly with our customer, in order to respond to emergent issues and concerns from our fleet and forward sites. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of core EE concepts (circuit analysis, power distribution, signal integrity, etc) and experience working with electrical design documentation (schematics, network diagrams, CCA/Board layouts, etc). This role is ideal for a recent graduate with 1-2 years of experience who enjoys learning on the job and adapting to evolving project needs. Must be a US Citizen; This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) from an accredited institution - 1-2 years of relevant professional experience (internships, co‑ops, or full‑time) - Applied Experience with core EE concepts such as circuit analysis, power distribution, signal integrity, etc - Experience working with electrical design documentation (schematics, network diagrams, CCA/board layouts) - Familiarity with FPGA design flow - Ability to work effectively on Agile teams, both on‑site and remotely - Strong interpersonal & time‑management skills - Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require a government security clearance; This position is located at a facility that requires special access Desired skills - Advanced degree (M.S) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field - Proficiency with CAE tools such as Altium Designer, Zuken CR-8000, or AutoCAD Electrical. - Hands‑on FPGA experience (e.g., Xilinx/Intel families) including IP integration and board bring‑up - Power‑systems knowledge (UPS, battery management, etc) - Familiarity with Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) concepts, including inertial navigation algorithms Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Ability to work remotely Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
