Assistant Director, Events

As a member of the Donor Experience & Engagement team, this position is responsible for implementing a comprehensive and robust portfolio of recognition, stewardship, and cultivation events. Accountable for executing all projects within budget and on time, the Assistant Director will collaborate with Dana-Farber’s faculty and leadership, develop compelling event programs, secure the best value from vendors, identify process efficiencies, collaborate with departments across Dana-Farber, and ensure alignment with policies and standards. This position is responsible for assisting the entire Division with reaching financial goals. Reports to the Associate Director, Events, Donor Experience & Engagement. This position's work location is fully remote with occasional time on-campus in Brookline, MA. The selected candidate may only work remotely from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI). Some travel, attending events as well as off-site meetings when needed. Requires light lifting for event set-up. Weekend and night work is required occasionally. Attendance at signature events required. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational and Programmatic Support: Manage operations and programs for a functional area within the Division of Philanthropy.
  • Reporting and Data Management: Serve as a “super user” of our databases and reporting tools. Demonstrate expertise with and understanding of the best uses of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other management information, productivity, and tracking systems used by the Division of Philanthropy. Maintain confidentiality.
  • Communication: Independently manage correspondence, reports, and presentations specific to the functional area you work.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong proofreading skills.
  • Organization: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Solid organizational, project management, and multi-tasking abilities skills, with an aptitude for prioritizing tasks. Strong attention to detail. Effective and efficient time-management abilities. Strong ability to be resourceful and self-initiate tasks.
  • Judgement: Exceptional ability to exercise judgement, maintain confidentiality, and act with discretion when working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used for decision-making.
  • Computer Literacy: Strong knowledge of development databases, and Microsoft Office applications, with excellent Excel skills.

Pay Transparency Statement The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications. For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). $85,900.00 - $103,600.00
